Be The Change

f you’ve already read my In My Shoes story, you know how I came to embrace Mohandas Karamchand “Mahatma” Gandhi’s “be the change you want to see in the world” wisdom.

Gandhi’s inspiring life story is lengthy and well-documented. And although it may be a stretch for some to make the connection between Gandhi’s words and my modern-day application of those words, know this: Gandhi’s leadership helped people overcome hardships, triumph through struggles, and learn the “art of self-reliance.” That’s what it’s all about for me. His words resonated for me because they are a shining daily reminder for me that my journey — and yours — is all about overcoming hardships, celebrating the triumphs, large and small, and becoming strong enough to rely on myself first. You can do it too. Be the Change. Start today.
